For one whole week: from 20th to 26th of May 2017, Shanghai, China's largest city, will witness a series of programs that showcases Indonesia's best in tourism, business, investment and finance.

This full week of Trade, Tourism and Investment promotion is held by Consulate General of Indonesia, supported by Indonesian Chamber of Commerce in China (INACHAM), National Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), and Indonesian Ministries of Tourism, and Trade.

Featured events of Indonesia Week 2017, among all, are cultural performances, fashion show, culinary arts, photo exhibitions of Indonesian Touristic Destinations, as well as forums of investment, tourism and finance.

Players in tourism-related businesses are invited to a forum titled as Indonesian Tourism Infrastructure Investment, and to Tourism Sales Mission. Actors of the financial worlds both in Indonesia and in China will meet in Financial Seminar which is supported by Bank Indonesia.

"All programs in Indonesia Week or InaWeek is a joint effort to attract more tourists from this city of 24 million people, as well as from the accredited provinces within the Consulate General of Indonesia in Shanghai," explained the Consul General of Indonesia in Shanghai, Siti Mauludiah, who is more affectionately called Bu Nining.

The Inaweek events will also be held at various prestigious venues around Shanghai. The exhibition of Indonesian festival which will promote Indonesian products and cultural performances will take place at the Oriental Pearl Tower (OPT), the bulbous tower on the banks of Yangtze river that is so iconic of Shanghai.

"The promotion in OPT is expected to attract foreign tourists who happen to visit Shanghai at the time, in the hope that they will also visit Indonesia," said Mrs. Nining further.

As for the fashion show event featuring the works of Indonesian designers, Yuz Museum will be its venue, while Indonesian culinary will be served for one week at the Westin Hotel, the OPT restaurants and the YuzM Restaurant.

Campuses in Shanghai city will also enjoy Indonesian cultural and culinary delights, presented by Indonesian students currently studying in Shanghai, under Indonesian Student Association in China (Permit) in Shanghai.

"This full week promotion of Indonesia in Shanghai is the first of its kind since the opening of

Indonesian CG in Shanghai in 2012.  Indonesian Incorporated Week or InaWeek is also supported by state owned companies like Bank Mandiri and flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, as well as by non profit groups such as Indonesian Photographers Community (KOMODO), and The Women Association of Indonesia in Shanghai." And finally the Consul General Nining summed it up: "The main mission of InaWeek 2017 is to promote Indonesian Tourism and attracting more Chinese tourists to Indonesia."
