THE HOTEL
Set next to Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen Central Station, the renowned Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek museum, and City Hall Square—and just a short walk to the Stroget, one of the longest shopping streets in Europe—the grand 77-room Nobis Hotel Copenhagen is housed in an historic 5,400-square-meter landmark building that originally served as the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music. Star architect and Design Hotels™ Influencer Gert Wingårdh has emphasized the 1903 structure’s original architecture details, while adding superior-quality natural materials such as various marbles, stone, wood, and glass, with a subtly elegant color scale that includes beautiful green accents and inspirations by Le Corbusier. At Nobis Hotel Copenhagen modernism meets classicism, and it’s all lusciously augmented by such embracing amenities as a gym, a sauna with cooling pool and hamam, a bar, a lounge area, and a restaurant that, taken together, serve as an attractive new locus for Copenhagen’s downtown social scene.
MADE BY ORIGINALS
You wouldn’t expect that the driving force behind the Nobis Hotel Copenhagen is Italian. Alessandro Catenacci, CEO and Director of the Nobis Group, infuses the ambience of a private home, mixed with a Scandinavian sense of luxury, to many of Stockholm’s top restaurants, nightclubs, and hotels. “I sometimes look at myself in the mirror and think, ‘Am I really good at anything, or was it just luck’?”
ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN
Situated in the center of Copenhagen, the hotel resides in a 1903-built structure that housed the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music for a number of years, as designed by Martin Borch. Leading architect and Design Hotels™ Influencer Gert Wingårdh added the 1950s-style modernistic annex to this work of Danish classicism, while ensuring that original architectural elements were complemented by various marbles, woods, glass, and elegant color schemes.
