关于本酒店 THE HOTEL Hotel La Semilla is infused with a sense of Mexican heritage and style thanks to vintage Mexican furniture and the finest flea market finds from haciendas in the Yucatán region and around the country. The hotel possesses a laidback simplicity with lounging spaces where mismatched pieces of furniture, such as in the Cocina Loft restaurant, create the feeling of relaxing at a friend’s house. Guests are encouraged to explore the owner’s favorite restaurants or to bring their own food to the hotel to be enjoyed in any of the lounge spaces or even in the garden surrounded by candles. MADE BY ORIGINALS While Alexis Schärer grew up in hospitality, spending his childhood in the hotels that his father managed, Angie Rodriguez studied hotel management and then dabbled in photography, jewelry design, and painting. After traveling the world, the pair started working at The Plaza Athenee Hotel on the same day and realized that they shared the same life goal: to open a hotel. Hotel La Semilla represents an amalgamation of two individuals’ ideas and passions. ARCHITECTURE & DESIGN Local authenticity was a guiding principle in the refurbishment of the white geometric building that houses Hotel La Semilla, a structure that conforms to Playa del Carmen’s prevailing architectural style, while the interior design is clearly influenced by owners Alexis Schärer and Angie Rodriguez’s experiences around the world. Concrete flooring is inspired by Greece; mosaic tiles are distinctly Yucatán; and industrial loft-style spaces point towards New York City, while furniture ranges from modern to antique.
