Internationally renowned Filipino artist Jensen Moreno joined ELG Programs on November 19 and 20 to lead an inspiring art event that celebrates neurodiversity through creative expression. Over the course of two days, Jensen collaborated with ELG students to create artwork centered on the theme of neurodiversity, symbolized by the infinity loop—a powerful emblem representing limitless potential and the beauty of individual differences. The event included both individual pieces crafted by each student and a collaborative artwork titled My Stage, which captured students’ unique perspectives on life as a platform where they can be seen, heard, and celebrated.

The event embodied ELG’s commitment to a neurodiversity-affirming approach, which celebrates the individual strengths and abilities of each child. “Art allows our students to express their unique voices in a deeply personal way,” said ELG Executive Program Director, Dr. Angela Ingram. “Through this experience, students not only created beautiful artwork but also developed pride and confidence in who they are.”

Importance of Art for Neurodivergent Children

For neurodivergent children, art and creative expression can be transformative. Art offers a means for self-discovery, emotional expression, and connection. Jensen Moreno, who has held acclaimed art exhibitions across China, brings her talent and enthusiasm for inclusion to ELG, empowering students to explore their unique artistic voices.

"Seeing these kids find joy and confidence through art is something truly special,” Jensen shares. “This collaboration is more than just creating beautiful art. It’s about giving each child a stage—a platform to show the world who they are and how they see life. Working with ELG, I’m able to see that every brushstroke and color choice holds meaning for them."

The Art Theme: Neurodiversity and the Infinity Loop

Guided by the theme of neurodiversity, students created their own interpretations of the infinity loop, symbolizing their personal journeys and unique strengths. The infinity loop—a universal sign of boundless potential and interconnectedness—will feature as a recurring motif, illustrating the value of neurodiversity. This experience not only allowed students to develop their creative skills but also provided them a chance to communicate their perspectives and celebrate their differences.

My Stage, the collaborative artwork prepared by Jensen and ELG students, showcased how each student viewed life as a platform. “My favorite part is picking different colors,” says one student. “Art makes me happy.”
